On Monday, the 9th of October we tried assembling the superstructure, i.e. the aluminum frames and lifted them up with a third of the lamps. At Väre, the ambient lights cannot be unlit which was a bummer. Also, we did not level the lamps to the correct configuration nor tidied up the distances of the lamps from the ground as can be seen from the image below. Nevertheless, it was great to see again a part of the installation closer to realisation when we lit it up.
Again the work going to the frames and suspension system reminds us designers that turning something from a digital idea to a digital design, to physical world requires a set of problem solving and labor not often counted for. But here we are, embarking to Eindhoven next week, while the goods are already on their way.
